Weekend Wrap Up

It's been another week. I'm so lame at posting.... My long run this Saturday was 7 miles. I did quite good I thought for me. I didn't eat my normal banana but ate a piece of bread with peanut butter and honey. I was also out of any chews so went empty handed.  I felt great the first 5 to 6 miles. But the last mile was tough! I finished in 1.20 Min.

I am really enjoying my running group. It is very motivational and keeps me accountable to myself and my goals.

It's Monday and I woke up after dreaming I was in the hospital for my injured knee. When I woke up, I realized it was really hurting. I iced it today and made an appointment with Ernie, the CREW trainer. That also means I skipped my run. Thank goodness because it was cancelled due to rain! I was going to make it up tonight but decided to do chores around the house.

This past weekend was PACKED with fun activites. First, a much needed trip to the grocery store. Thank goodness I got smart waters on sale 10 for 10!!!! Note.. the beer and cokes are not mine.

Saturday after the long run we worked in the house and had normal pancake breakfast with the kids. We swtiched it up this week and had waffels per Cullie's request. They were a hit! Rand and I cleaned out his closet. We are giving a lot to the Junior League Thrift Sale coming up in October. Once again, I forgot to take a picture.

Later we took the kids to Square Fest where we had a great picnic and listened to some great music. The fest went on all night but we stayed in.

Sunday was promotion Sunday at church. The kids went up to the next class. They were so cute and exciting. The sermon in big Church was AMAZING. We had a guest preacher who is possibly the best person I have ever heard speak. He even kept the attention of a 4 and 9 year old. His sermon was about listening to God when he speaks to you and what we as humans do to avoid it. ON the other side what we need to do when you hear the voice of God. I would love to hear more from him sometime.

Sunday afternoon we played Yatzee as a family. Cullie's new favorite game and then the girls got dressed up and went to the Happily Ever After Ball. This was an event that benefited The Next Generation charity which we are members of. The charity benefits the Childrens hospital at Memorial Health. I really enjoy being part of this organiztion.
THis event was for children to dress up and meet the princesses and princes and some others too. Captain Jack Sparrow gave out Treasure Maps at the door for the children to get Jewlews in each room. One room had Rapunzels hair salon where they got hair and make up done. Another was Alice
s tea party room and the coolest was the under the sea room which was for the Little mermaid. All the children there LOVED it and had a blast. Randy went with me and he even said that it was a great event. He normally hates things like this.

Last Weekend Wrap Up

I'm writing out of order but these are pictures I had on the iPhone.

WoW! What a weekend. A few of the girls got together with their husbands for a weekend at the beach. This trip has been in the works since a few weeks after the wedding. After deciding on a date, we decided on a location. TYBEE ISLAND it was. I was thrilled. I didn't have to travel far. The weekend started with an amazing dinner at Sundae Cafe. I am terrible at taking pictures but this food was sooooooo pretty that I made everyone show me their food.
Griffin had Blue Cheese encrusted fillet with cheesy potatoes, veggies, and fried onions. He said this was the best steak he ever had.

Davis and Lauren Split the crab cake dinner. Served with Polenta and okra an tomatoes. YUMO!

Meredith and I SPLIT yes this is half of the Salmon Special with nappa cabbage wraps. It was great.

Randy with his traditional cheeseburger

Bruce had a creole style pasta.
I forgot to take a picture of the appetizer, they were sushi nachos. Amazing. After, toasting Champagne to start the weekend, cocktails and, wine we were done and went home to meet the rest of the crew. We spent the night on the deck catching up and having fun. I think there was some dancing at some point.

The next few days were spent on the beach, going out, and having fun. Karaoke and Dancing at Tybee Times were the best! Pictures to follow.

Randy and I spend Sunday as a CHILL COUCH day. Those are the best. Our weekend travels are over for the summer. Now time for Fall Football Season!

Crew Long Run Saturday

I have a lot of updating I
know to do. To get it started I am posting my first long run in over 3 weeks. The last time I posted was my last long run. I have had several short runs over my vacation period but nothing to write home about. It wasn't great but the good thing was I felt a WHOLE lot better than I thought I would coming back from a hiatus. With that being said we had a 5 Mile "cool down" run. We are about to really pick up the mileage so this week was suppose to energize us for the upcoming long runs. It's still not where I want to be but my fastest 5 miler yet by 2 minutes.

CREW long run Saturday

This morning was a long run day. We did 6 miles in 1.10. pretty good I thought. My knee felt good but my ankles were killing me. I guess it is time to get rid of the Mizunos. I gave them a fair shot but just not working. We ran a beautiful route this morning and the breeze was fantastic. We ran the Rails and Trails route at Fort Pulaski. It was beautiful as the sunset came up over the river.

Now off to one of my most favorite places in the world for a week! Elbow Cay, Abacos Bahamas.

A year ago, Randy proposed to me here!

Sorry.... So Busy

I have been MIA for a while. I'm so sorry. Mainly to myself. I noticed without me keeping track of my blog I am not doing all I should be doing! I am not going day by day over the past few weeks because that would be boring.

I had a short run the past few days. One day I found myself wanting my mat at the yoga studio. I have continued to ice my leg. I also purchased a foam roller. My knee is starting to feel better. Our long run last Saturday was on Wilmington Island and we did 5.5. My time was a little over 1 hour. Pretty good compared to the run the week before. My friend Meredith and Bruce came in to town to celebrate Denmark's birthday. We celebrated on Thursday and Saturday. It was so much fun.

Walker last week my co workers and I cooked dinner at the Ronald McDonald house. It was a great experience and we can't wait to go back. The families were so appreciative.

I had a conference in Atlanta I went to. It was a women's conference and it was great! More to come on it when I have more time to blog. I was inspired by several things in my career and got some answers to my concerns about my job.

Last night, Paige's cheer squad had a fashion show fundraiser. It was fun, and the girls looked cute. I'm not sure how much money was raised but they enjoyed theirselves and that is all that matters!

Tonight is the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. We have the kids and they are begging for Pizza. They will be eating that, and I plan to make some pasta for my run in the morning. They will probably hate the Opening Ceremonies but Daddy and I are excited!

Injured or not?

It was a manic Monday for sure. Started the morning out with CREW. We ran 3.5 miles downtown. Route was around Forsyth once, down Park, Left on Price, Left on Oglethorpe, left on Barnard, Left on Gaston, Right on Whitaker. I felt great this run. I found a running partner this morning and it was VERY helpful. I hope he continues to come so we can run together. We picked up the pace the last half mile but our pace was around 11:25.

Dinner was grilled chicken, sauteed spinach, and a Corn salad recipe. It was ok, I would leave out the arugula next time.

Now we are relaxing on the couch while I ice my knee. It was bothering me a lot today, enough to keep me from the gym. It's bothering me for at least 3 weeks. This is the first time I have iced it. I hope this is not a serious injury.

Does anyone have any runner suggestions for knee pain? I just got new shoes.
